Early last year my buddy Mike (who happens to be a computer programer) told me that he wanted to invent a laptop built into a surfboard so he could program while he waits for waves. He wouldn’t shut up about it either. He went on ranting for months and months about the damn thing…even wanted to name it a ‘surftop lapboard’ for christ’s sake. I wanted to slap him in the face for thinking of such a stupid idea, but it turns out that I was the one eating my words after Intel beat him to the punch. He was so happy that day he printed out the damn article and slapped it all over his cubicle. Still a crappy invention in my opinion though.
Here are some other articles with more pictures. Connect Scottland and T3.
This is my greatest shame…losing out on a winning idea because I didn’t sack up and put the cash on the table.
Someday one of my other inventions, such as the interlocking highway system, will make my millions. For now, all of you who made fun of my laptop surfboard can eat me.
best regards,
mike

Something tells me that thing isn’t going to catch on. Who wants to play on their computers while surfing anyway?

A friend of mine had the idea of creating a retail outlet where, for a percentage fee, we would take your unwanted items and list them on eBay. This was around 2001 or 2002.
I laughed at him. “Who would pay for that,” I ridiculed, “when you can do it yourself for free?”
Somedays you just can’t do anything but try to kick yourself in the head. Today’s lesson? Never underestimate the laziness of the American populace.
