Since I’ve been into eBay the last few days I thought I’d make a quick post on the subject.
As you probably know, GoldenPalace.com is notorious for snatching up all the odd-ball / bizarre auctions on the Internet these days. They buy everything from grilled cheese sandwiches representing the Virgin Mary, to advertisements on pregnant bellies. A lot of people don’t realize just how smart this marketing strategy really is. Not only do these auctions help brand the casino name, they also bring on large amounts of press and publicity.
Golden Palace started their ‘guerilla marketing’ tactics years ago when they used to put temporary tattoos on to the backs of boxers during big fights. After this they began sponsoring ‘streakers’ to run naked through the field at professional sporting events. (although the streakers aren’t televised, they are still seen and remembered)
They have even archived all the old ebay auctions they’ve bidded on and created a page dedicated to it on their website. (of course there’s an annoying floating ‘casino’ icon urging you to download while on their site) Below are some funny pictures of some of the ridiculous advertising they buy
